About Bid a House
Bid a House is an online auction for homes, starting in Boise and the Treasure Valley. We think buying a house should feel less like a guessing game and more like an open market.
Online auctions changed how people buy collector cars: one great listing, a public conversation, and a clear ending. We're bringing that to everyday, owner-occupied homes, with the care a home sale needs.
What we believe
Show the whole house
Buyers bid with more confidence when they can see everything. Every listing gets the same complete format: photos, a writeup, disclosures, and the numbers.
Let people ask
The best questions about a house come from neighbors, contractors, and other buyers. Our comment threads keep those questions, and the answers, in public.
Keep the timeline short
Ten days is long enough for buyers to do their homework and short enough that sellers aren't left waiting. Then there's a result.
Publish the price
Idaho doesn't make sale prices public. We publish every final bid, so each auction makes the local market a little easier to read.
Who does what
- Bid a House runs the website and the auction, reviews every home, and prepares listings with local photographers, writers, and licensed inspectors.
- An Idaho-licensed designated broker provides the brokerage services for every sale and is named on each listing.
- A licensed Idaho title company holds earnest money and handles closing. Bid a House never holds buyer or seller funds.
Local, on purpose
We're based in Boise, and we're starting with the Treasure Valley because a good listing needs people who know the neighborhoods. We'll grow one market at a time.
